siOsi is a free color and makeup analysis tool. You upload one photo and it reads what is actually there: your undertone, your 12-season color type, whether gold or silver harmonizes with you, your face shape and lid type, and whether a hair color you are considering will work with your skin. It also grades the makeup already in the photo through 15 diagnostic labs, including flash white-cast, oxidation, coverage and longevity, which is the part that answers why a foundation that looked right in the mirror turns grey in photographs.
The alternatives are a five-question quiz that never actually looks at you, or a $200 to $500 in-person session where two analysts often disagree about the same face. siOsi is instant, needs no signup for the first analysis, and is available in 9 languages on web, iOS and Android.

We are two people. Barbara Sia is a professional makeup artist trained in color theory and the majority owner of the company. Demetrius Koro is the engineer. siOsi came out of a problem Barbara kept seeing in her chair: clients who had bought a wardrobe and a makeup bag chosen for the wrong coloring, with no affordable way to find out beforehand.
On values, the two things we refuse to do are the two things this industry does constantly. We do not rate faces. There is a whole category of apps that hand you a number out of ten, and they make people feel worse while telling them nothing useful. And we do not give gendered advice. Most beauty tools decide what you are before they say anything helpful, which means the advice was written for someone else. siOsi returns the same reading regardless of who is asking, because undertone and contrast do not have a gender. That makes it genuinely usable for trans and nonbinary users, for drag and performance makeup, and for anyone who has spent years being handed the wrong instructions.
